More Joining the Dermarians

The form one students of in SMK Derma have increased in number to 62 on the cherished Monday morning of 18th January as more students came flowing in after being selected for the second intake. Taking place in the school hall was the orientation for the new students. They were given a brief talk on the basic information of our school and to consult them on choosing between the alternative subjects which include music, arts and Japanese Language. Apart from that, this programme also held the objective to give students an opportunity to tighten their bonds with teachers and other new students besides preparing them well, physically and mentally. As always, our principal, Madam Noorlia Mohd Zain gave a speech to welcome the newly transferred students without forgetting to remind them to strive hard to excel in their studies and co-curricular activities. After that were the following speeches by other teachers which then officially ended at 1 o'clock. Like any of us when we were still juniors, young and innocent, mixed emotions of pleasure and excitement with fraction of nervousness in this unfamiliar place were how our juniors felt. Hopefully, as these students join our school, they will bring honour and pride to our school by lifting the name of SMK Derma, at national level, to become one of the most well-known secondary cluster school in our nation. Lastly, a cheer to the students who succeeded to become a part of us - the Dermarians and a piece of advice to all seniors - "Don't bully them ah!".
