The swear in of the school prefects and the students council for the year 2010 was held on Monday, 25th January 2010 at Syed Madmood Hall. All teachers and students were already at the hall before the ceremony began. The emcee of the ceremony was Mr. Saiful Munir Bidin. ASP Azmi b Hamid, the 'foster father' of SMK Derma was invited as the guest of honour for the ceremony. After the singing of the National and the State Anthems, Nur Izzat Najmi b Kajahmohideen recited the prayer and Rukunegara Pledge. After the oppointment certificates were given away, the Head Prefect for 2010, Adam Syafiq b Azuden, led the Prefect Pledge and later handed the pledge to the principal, Madam Noorlia Mohd Zain. The ceremony went smoothly with the hope that the school prefects and the students council will carry out their duties excellently.
